Shoot Day BTS!!

Hi its me again. I actually have no excuse for why I’ve been so MIA, so my apologies I guess lol. To get me back in the mood of blogging, I wanted to just talk about what goes on behind the cameras when taking pictures for bridal shoots. Firstly, can I just say never in a million years did I think I’d actually end up modelling, I’ve always loved the thought of it but I never gave myself the chance to just do it!  Anyways, 2021 shall be the year that this doughnut does something productive and good for herself lmao. Please comment below if you enjoyed reading my article & do share it with your friends 🙂

I guess I’m feeling a bit brave to talk about this so early on but you actually realise how harsh the ‘modelling’ world is. So there were a couple of occasions where a makeup artist would send me a DM if I can work with them, but as soon as I mention the word ‘travel cost’ the individual disappears lmao. It just shows that in this so-called makeup world, people will overlook your talents, and just want you for free without noticing how much you bring to the table!! But hey, I’m allowed to be frustrated because I’m so new to this lol.

However, with that being said my first bridal shoot experience was AMAZING. Rumy & Suleka if you’re reading this; you’re the best! They made me feel so welcomed and hyped me up the entire time. I’m going to be completely honest, every time I have a shoot I literally panic so much for absolutely no reason lol. But they definitely reassured me throughout the shoot.

How stunning is this entire look, please?! All the details are already on my Instagram @sanaesthetic so check it out if you wish to. Okay, so one of the main reasons that I chose to go into this path is because I’ll get a clearer idea of who to go to for my actual wedding (smart right lmao). If you know me, you’ll know how picky I am with my outfits and if I don’t like something, I will NOT post it lol.

I don’t want to do many bridal shoots any time soon because I just want it to be as special for my actual wedding AND because I personally think the less makeup I wear, the better. However, with that being said, you will be seeing some bridal looks that I definitely won’t be wearing for my wedding haha. If any of you want to go into modelling and need advice just drop a DM because I don’t mind sharing my experiences.

I’m not even going to lie, this was my favourite ever look. The camera did not do justice to the makeup lmao – but oh em jee I loved the jewellery especially, it was so intricate and worth the pain LOOL.

I was worried about the pictures not coming out good because as I said before, I’m so picky with what I like and it gets frustrating for me and the photographer lmao. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I’m just going to give some of the tips that I think would be useful if you want to go into modelling (let me know if I should do another post on it). Be confident and reach out to people. You will get rejected, everyone has at least once in their lifetime – it’s normal. Don’t get disheartened if people leave you on delivered because that just shows how unprofessional they are in their businesses.

Also, be prepared; have a couple of poses in mind, download Pinterest for inspiration! And this one I don’t stick to but have a balanced diet. It will not only be good for your looks but also for your health. Modelling isn’t easy – you have a couple of hours to do the makeup and hair and then spend another 4-5 hours on taking pictures and videos, you will get exhausted. But it’s up to you to have a  healthy diet, drink water as much as you can and on days off: skincare and haircare is a MUST.

I’m personally working on my hair because it’s too short and your hair artists will appreciate you for saving the hassle of putting extensions on lol.

This was my first ever saree shoot and wow it was absolutely stunning. The details of this saree are on my Instagram so check it out if you want to buy it!

I have always dressed up in my mum’s long dupattas making them into sarees when I was a child lmao and to see me finally wear one is just amazing. How do you think I look guys? I think I’d deffo wear a saree at one of my friends weddings just because it looks so elegant and sophisticated at the same time.

Just going to end this by saying I’m so grateful for the experiences that I’ve learnt whilst doing this & a huge shout out to all the makeup artists that exceeded my vision of the looks!!

A huge thank you to all the comments you guys send through, I look at each and every one and it truly makes my day! Hopefully I’ll be posting another blog post soon. Thanks for reading 🙂

XOXO, SANA
