The other day it was my not-so-baby brother’s birthday and OMG it was the hardest thing ever – especially because we done everything ON his birthday! Yes we left it THAT last minute and no I wouldn’t have it any other way because it all worked out fine in the end. I’ll be sharing a few tips that will be of use for you all when hosting a kid’s party.
First things first, the decoration!
Some of you may have thought about getting a professional to decorate for your party, but I end up leaving everything last minute and if you’re also like me, just hear what I have to say! All you’ll need is Amazon Prime, AKA the app that has my entire heart and bank account LOL!
On Amazon, we ordered space party supplies which came in a whole pack. They also worked out MUCH cheaper than I imagined it to be. The one we ordered was £11.97 and it included balloons for the arch, tinsel for the background, an astronaut, moon, stars and rocket ship balloons for extra decor. Click Here to buy the exact space party supplies I had.
For the ceiling we got the solar system hanging swirl decorations – the link is Here.
We also had to get some string lights to add the finishing touch, which were £14.99 on Amazon too.
Down below are some pictures of our final result! What do you guys think?!

DECORATION TIPS
- From personal experience, don’t leave everything last min because it gets way too stressful to manage, so start by blowing balloons for the arch two days prior to the party and get everything up and ready the night before it as you’ll have more time to prepare for everything else without worrying about the decoration!
- Order everything two/three weeks before the date so that everything comes in time! We got lucky because we ordered the decorations five days before his birthday and it came within two days – thanks to Amazon Prime.
- Try to order everything you need from one website as it’ll make your life 10 times easier, and don’t try any new websites unless you’re ordering a month in advance because you never know what can go wrong!
Now, to my personal fave part; THE DESSERT TABLE!
You can’t have a party without some cute desserts to keep the kids happy! We ordered some strawberries from @berry.sensational on the gram and omg they were SO delish. I’ll definitely be ordering some of her other scrumptious looking desserts when I host another party!
And of course, the cupcakes are from @tinytemptations22 – and it’s safe to say that I’ve been ordering from her for a couple of years now and she does not disappoint!
We also added a picture cake for my brother, simply because we were bored of having number cakes and made some sweet cones which was a mistake because all the kids were SO hyper throughout the entire day lol.

Bear in mind this was pretty last minute, we didn’t have the time to get extra things like:
- Party bags and favours (you can find many packs of fillers on Amazon).
- Invitation cards
- A piñata
All kids want are loads and loads of presents! So make sure you buy toys that are for their age, some of the presents we got him included: his favourite cartoon’s books, football goal, a kitchen and a huge box of fake fruits (yes he is THAT obsessed with fruits lol).
There’s so much you can get for kids – but one thing that makes them even more happy is when you gift wrap everything, it’s so exciting for them to open their gifts in front of everyone.
LOL how can I not add a pic of my cutie patootie opening his prezzies?!

When hosting kid’s parties, it’s so important to go for certain themes that they are obsessed with! My brother is absolutely in love with planets so we decided to throw him a space party! But if your child likes animals, go for a zoo theme party etc!
Oh and a party isn’t complete without some music! So make a party playlist and get a speaker, if you’re looking for a REALLY amazing and LOUD speaker… Click Here.
