Accessorizing Asian Outfits

If you need some jewellery inspo for your Asian outfits, then well done, you came to the right place! I’ll be showing some of my clothes styled with my go-to jewellery for any occasion, whether that’s a family gathering or a wedding.

Jewellery actually plays a huge part in our culture – in Pakistan, brides are expected to wear real gold because it ‘looks good’ with the classic red bridal look. For the ‘walima’/ reception, the groom has to gift the bride her jewellery and outfit! And although we don’t really deep it, jewellery actually brings out our best features!

Hope you guys enjoy reading my blog posts so far! Now, let’s talk jewellery.

Keep it simple!

Now I don’t know if it’s just me but whenever I wear heavy outfits I feel like I look OTT. So, I try to tone the jewellery down if my outfits are too heavy or bright.

This is actually a blue outfit but the filter made it look green, sorry about that. If I’m being completely honest, this look was not it just because I dislike the way my hair looks when I curl it! Apart from that, the jewellery is silver which clearly goes well with my blue outfit.

By keeping the accessories toned down, the outfit looks much better because it’s not right at your face LOL.

Contrast your jewellery with your outfit!

Firstly, can we just look at my favourite colour for a good minute, please?! If you know me, you’ll know my obsession with purple; it’s such a pretty colour.

This is personally my favourite just because the contrast between the pink jewellery and purple outfit go together, and it just pulls the entire look off, am I right? I wanted my jewellery to stand out, and by using a different colour I was able to do so – I would suggest you do the same.

The pink tikka and earrings actually came in a full set but for this outfit, I wanted to go for the simple-yet-glam look, so only used two pieces. If you want to use your full set, by all means, go ahead!

Also, quick tip: if you’re going for a heavy makeup look; then go for light lipstick, if your outfit is heavy; then go for less jewellery, vice versa.

Gold is your best friend when it comes to Asian clothing!

It’s pretty obvious as to why I’m saying gold jewellery should be sitting in your wardrobes right now. It literally goes with any outfit, you just need to experiment! I can’t talk because once I find something I like; I never stop using it LOL. Anyways, these earrings are of course the centre of attention because of how huge they are – just how we like it 🙂

A lot of you asked me where they’re from and I honestly forgot the shop’s name, but it’s in Ilford Lane if that helps. And my gharara is from Bidaai.

Whether you have a kurta or a kameez to style jewellery with – you can never go wrong with gold statement earrings because they match with every single outfit, and you can’t tell me otherwise!!
